# DejimaAI

> DejimaAI is an export desk for small and mid-sized Japanese manufacturers that have no overseas sales team. Using AI and an international network, it finds overseas buyers, runs negotiations, handles export paperwork and logistics, and supports repeat orders — through a single point of contact. Japanese, Chinese and English are handled in-house. Focus regions: Greater China, English-speaking markets, Europe and the Middle East.

## What DejimaAI does

- AI Export Studio (free AI export diagnosis): from a product description, an AI drafts market hypotheses, buyer types, buyer-facing copy in English and Traditional Chinese, pre-export checks and an HS code candidate. Outputs are hypotheses and are reviewed by people before any trade decision. Usage is rate-limited.
- Export preparation: multilingual product sheets, price lists (e.g. EXW/FOB), trade terms and buyer-facing pages.
- Overseas sales desk: buyer research and outreach, enquiry handling and negotiation, on an ongoing basis.
- Trade execution: contracts, quotations, invoices and packing lists, freight and customs arrangements, payment collection. DejimaAI can also act as the exporter of record by buying from the maker domestically and selling overseas (decided case by case).

## How AI is used

- AI: reading and structuring product information, multilingual drafts, reply drafts, document preparation.
- People: pricing and terms, negotiation, quality checks, trade decisions and relationships. Every AI output is checked by a person before it is used in a transaction.

- Japanese, Chinese and English are handled by the team; other languages with native translation partners.
- Focus regions: Greater China, English-speaking markets, Europe, the Middle East (e.g. the UAE).

- The name comes from Dejima, the small fan-shaped artificial island in Nagasaki that served as the Dutch trading post from 1641 to 1859 — Japan's window to Europe during the Edo period.
